Menopause Clinic at Bray Family Practice

At Bray Family Practice we have started a dedicated Menopause Clinic.

This will be run by Dr Charlene Getty and Dr Aileen Kyne. This involves an initial appointment with the nurse for blood tests. This is followed by a 30 minute appointment with the Doctor 1 week later which includes:

• Menopause symptom assessment

• Cardiovascular Health Assessment- Blood Pressure

• BMI

• Cholesterol results discussed

• Bone Health Assessment- measuring your risk of suffering from Osteoporosis

• Breast Exam

• Contraceptive Advice

• Arrange a smear if one is due

• Lifestyle Assessment and Advice

• Treatment options

A Menopause review appointment is required at 3 months and then every 6 months to monitor prescribed treatments. These appointments are 15 minutes.

The review appointment includes:

Review response to treatment and any current symptoms

• Blood pressure

• BMI

• Breast Exam

• Review screening status

• Fees

Bloods and Initial 30 minute Menopause Consult: €165

Review Menopause Consult 15 minutes: €65
